About us
What areas do you service?
We're based in Wauchope and work across the Mid North Coast NSW, including Port Macquarie, Taree and surrounding towns and rural areas. A travel fee may apply for jobs further out – we'll always include it in your quote.
What are your opening hours?
Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. We're closed on weekends and public holidays. If you have an urgent problem outside these hours, give us a call and we'll let you know what we can do.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. We're a licensed electrical contractor (licence 374881C), an accredited Level 2 Service Provider (ASP 505019), and fully insured.
Quotes & payment
Are quotes free?
Yes, quotes are free and there's no obligation. For simple jobs we can often quote from a phone call, photos or the form below. For bigger jobs – like switchboard upgrades, solar or Level 2 work – we'll usually need to see the site first.
Will the final price match the quote?
Our quotes are based on the information we have at the time, and the final price is confirmed on site. If we find something that needs extra work, we'll explain it and get your approval before doing it – no surprises.
When do I pay?
Payment is due on completion unless we've agreed otherwise in writing. We'll confirm the payment options with your quote.
Do I get a compliance certificate?
Yes. In NSW, electrical work must be certified. We provide a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work (CCEW) for all work that needs one, and all our work is carried out to the Australian wiring standards (AS/NZS 3000).
General electrical
Can I do my own electrical work?
No. In NSW, electrical wiring work must be done by a licensed electrician. DIY electrical work is illegal and dangerous – for you and for anyone who works on the property later. Plugging in appliances and changing light globes is fine; anything involving fixed wiring isn't.
Do I need a switchboard upgrade?
It's worth getting your switchboard checked if it still has old ceramic fuses, has no safety switches, trips often, feels warm or smells of burning, or if you're adding solar, a battery, an EV charger or a big new appliance. See General Electrical for more.
What is a safety switch (RCD)?
A safety switch – or residual current device (RCD) – cuts the power in a fraction of a second if it detects electricity leaking to earth, such as through a person. It's one of the most important safety devices in your home. Most have a test button; pressing it every few months is a good habit, and we test them as part of our membership plans.
What should I do if I smell burning or get a shock?
If it's safe to do so, turn off the power at the main switch on your switchboard and call a licensed electrician. If there's a fire, get everyone out and call 000.
ASP / Level 2
What's a Level 2 electrician?
A Level 2 Accredited Service Provider (ASP) is accredited by the NSW Government to work on the connection between the electricity network and your property – the service line, connection point and meter panel. A regular electrician can't do this work. See ASP / Level 2 for a plain-English explainer.
Do I need to wait for Essential Energy?
For most Level 2 work, no. In NSW you choose and pay an ASP directly to do it. We look after the paperwork and notifications with the network for you.
Who is responsible for a private power pole?
If your property has its own power pole, it's generally the property owner's responsibility to keep it safe. If it's old, leaning or showing signs of rot, we can inspect it and advise on the next steps.
Solar & batteries
How long does a solar installation take?
Most home systems are installed in a day or two once everything is approved. Before installation there's a site assessment, design and quote, and the network connection approval – we handle the paperwork and keep you updated on timing.
Are there rebates for solar and batteries?
Government rebates and incentives may be available. Eligibility and amounts change, so we'll explain what currently applies to your property and include it in your quote.
Can I add a battery to my existing solar?
Often, yes. It depends on your current inverter and switchboard. We'll check your setup and let you know the options.
Will a battery keep my power on in a blackout?
Only if the system is backup-capable and set up for it. Not every battery system provides backup power automatically – if it matters to you, tell us and we'll design for it.
Thermal imaging & smart home
How often should I get a thermal imaging inspection?
For businesses, once a year is a common interval as part of preventative maintenance. For homes, it's worth doing when buying a property, after electrical problems, or every few years – and it's included in our Premium membership plan.
Do smart switches work with my existing wiring?
Often, but not always. Some smart switches need wiring that older homes don't have at the switch. We'll check before recommending a system, and any hardwired smart devices must be installed by a licensed electrician.
Membership plans
How do the membership plans work?
You pay a monthly fee by direct debit and get member discounts, free call-outs and included safety checks, depending on your plan. See Membership Plans to compare them.
Can I cancel my membership?
Plans have a 12-month minimum term. After that you can cancel at any time – use the My account page or give us a call.
What counts as a free call-out?
The first hour on site plus minor parts, during business hours. Any extra time is charged at the member rate.
