Level 2 work, explained
Plain-English explainer
What does "Level 2 ASP" mean?
Think of your power supply in three parts:
- The network – the poles and wires in the street. On the Mid North Coast, these belong to the local network operator, Essential Energy.
- The connection – the service line that runs from the network to your property, plus the connection point and meter panel.
- Your wiring – everything inside your property, from the switchboard onwards.
A regular electrician looks after your wiring. But the connection in the middle can only be worked on by an Accredited Service Provider (ASP). A Level 2 ASP is accredited under the NSW Government's ASP scheme to connect, disconnect and alter those services.
Why it matters to you
In NSW, you choose and pay an ASP directly to do this work – you don't have to wait on the network to send someone out.
Because we're a Level 2 ASP and a licensed electrical contractor, we can take care of the whole job: the service line, meter panel and switchboard – without you having to coordinate multiple trades.
We also look after the paperwork and notifications with the network, so it's done right.

Meter panel upgrades

Temporary builder's supply
Safe, compliant temporary power for building sites, so your build can get started without delay.
Disconnect & reconnect
Safe disconnection and reconnection of your service for renovations, demolition, tree work, painting or repairs.
Private power pole work
Inspection, replacement and installation of private poles – common on rural and acreage properties.
When you'll need us
Common reasons to call a Level 2
- Building a new home or shed that needs connecting to the grid
- Renovating or extending near your service line or meter
- Adding solar, a battery or EV charger that needs a bigger supply
- A storm, fallen tree or vehicle has damaged your service line
- Your private pole is ageing, leaning or showing signs of rot
- Demolition or major work that needs the power safely disconnected
Private poles are your responsibility
If your property has its own power pole, it's generally the property owner's responsibility to keep it safe. Ageing or damaged poles can be a serious safety and fire hazard – especially in bushfire season.
If you're not sure about the condition of your pole, we can inspect it and advise on the next steps.
