Privacy policy
Last updated: 27 September 2026
Meridian Solar & Electrical (ABN 94 912 072 214) is a licensed electrical contractor based in Wauchope NSW. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we look after it and how you can access or correct it. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
We only collect what we need to quote, do and support your electrical work. This may include:
- Contact details – your name, phone number, email address, and the address and suburb of the property.
- Job details – what you've asked us to do, notes about the property (such as access or switchboard location), quotes, bookings and the work we've carried out.
- Account and membership details – if you create an account on our website: your login email, the membership plan you choose, the date you accepted the plan rules, and your membership status.
- Payment information – for memberships and invoices. Card and bank account details are handled by our payment provider or your bank, and are not stored on our website or in our job system.
We collect this information when you fill in a form on our website, create an account, call or email us, or when we're on site. If you don't give us the information we need, we may not be able to quote or carry out the work.
How we use it
- To prepare quotes, book and carry out work, and contact you about your job.
- To manage your account and membership, including billing and included services such as safety checks.
- To keep the records electrical contractors are required to keep, such as compliance certificates, and our business and tax records.
- To respond to your questions, complaints or warranty requests.
- To improve our services.
We will only send you marketing messages if you've agreed to receive them, and every marketing message will include an easy way to opt out. Messages about your job, quote, booking or membership aren't marketing.
We never sell your personal information.
Who we share it with
We only share your information when it's needed to do the work, run our business, or when the law requires it:
- Our staff – access depends on their role. For example, technicians only see details for the jobs they're booked on.
- Google Firebase – our website, customer accounts and job system run on Google Cloud. Our database is stored in Sydney, Australia. Google's login service may process your login email outside Australia.
- OpenStreetMap – to show jobs on our staff scheduling map, a job's street address is looked up with OpenStreetMap's free mapping service. Only the address is sent, not your name or other details.
- Web3Forms – when you send a quote request through our website, it's passed through Web3Forms, a form service that emails it to us. It may be processed outside Australia.
- Payment providers – to set up and collect membership payments. Payment providers may process information outside Australia.
- Electricity network and metering providers, and government regulators – where needed for connections, metering or Level 2 work, or where the law requires it, for example compliance certificates.
- Our professional advisers, such as our accountant, and anyone else the law requires or allows us to share with.
Some of these providers store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States. We use well-established providers with strong security and privacy practices.
How we keep it safe
Your information is stored in secure, access-controlled systems. Staff only see what their role needs. Passwords are handled by Google's login service – we can't see them. We keep personal information for as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as long as the law requires (for example, business and tax records are generally kept for five years). After that we delete or de-identify it.
Cookies and browser storage
Our website uses your browser's storage to keep you logged in to your account. We don't currently use advertising or tracking cookies. Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers when you visit.
Accessing, correcting or deleting your information
You can view and update your details at any time on the My account page. You can also ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to close your account by contacting us using the details below. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we may need to keep some records where the law requires it.
Questions and complaints
If you have a question about privacy, or think we've mishandled your information, please contact us first and we'll do our best to fix it:
- Email: info@meridianmnc.com.au
- Phone: 0429 828 022
If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
